Mildly spoilery general thoughts,
poshlil!
For those of you who don't know Haven, its a sci-fi light romance. That basically means a very humble budget for special effects and filming 90% of the scenes outdoors in the picturesque maritime province of Nova Scotia, Canada. I wouldn't say its a GREAT series, but it is a PRETTY GOOD character-driven series with moments when it really shines. Case in point: the 2-part season finale. It's pretty much secured NathanxAudrey as my OTP (though I do enjoy the regular hints of DukexNathan).
Also, I have a crush on Nathan/Lucas Bryant. He's cute in a small-town kind of way and there's just something delicious about how shirts and tight-fitting jeans hang on his lean body.
*cough* Fringe, on the other hand, is a GREAT series and always ever had just Peter and Olivia. Their story was amazing, subtle, intense, and tragically heartbreaking. This final season was really just 12 hours of me screaming, "KISS! Reconciliate! Walking into uncertain death, again? At least HUG!"
The 13th and final hour though gave me closure. I cried... more than once. I regret only that we never had more of September. And like most fans, I miss Walter the most.
So while Haven continues to fill my casual watching needs, Fringe leaves me with a big gaping hole for a hard-core science-fiction/fantasy drama. This sums my feelings perfectly:
