After a throat infection and a new computer set-up here (with much-needed tweaking by dom_ino) I am now ready to continue my long overdue update on my time in the Bay area:

Yesterday: Hung over. Dealing with goopy financial matters. Car stalled out in rush-hour traffic. Late returning to work.

Walk, B movie, early sleep last night.

This past weekend was really nice.  For one, Joe and I did some more roadtripping -- lucky that, since we were surprised to find my grannyhoopdie could make it an hour out of town.  We headed down to Northern Mississippi, got lost in mind, pulled off to get a map (NO! not $5 when you can peek and go), got tempted by the chicken strips and corn dogs ( Read more... )

So last night, Joe and I were up at Old Zinnie's and an old friend of mine (from Boston now), an ex-coworker, comes in, in town on break from school. We stay later, spend and drink more, than we should on a Sunday. Nice time, though ( Read more... )

Porch. My Bubba. A couple of friends. Seventy degree weather. Twilight. Jack and coke. Conversation. Music from just through the doors. No shoes. Deep breaths. Ideas. Falling lids. Maybe a wind-down movie after everyone's gone. Dreaming with no alarm.
