Just so we can keep non-fic discussions out of the prompt post. Discuss the movie, the actors, the fab wardrobe, the music, etc. If it's at all related to Inception, even tangentially, talk about it here. Enjoy!
Basically a Big Bang is a fic challenge in which novel length fic is submitted. A story is matched to an artist, or several, who will make art based on the fic submission.
Submissions are very long and usually very plotty. A minimum word count is imposed (e.g. 20,000, 30,000 or 40,000 word minimum). Most Big Bangs require that every submission undergo a beta, so as to ensure quality.
Sign ups are held, and as soon as sign ups close, the participants are given a certain period within which to accomplish the fic.
I'm planning to close the first prompt post once it reaches six or seven thousand comments. Livejournal's comment limit is ten thousand, so there's plenty of room for fills. This isn't set in stone, though. I'm open to suggestions.
Not necessarily themed. But prompt posts are usually closed a bit early to leave room for comments. Say, months from now, a newcomer to the meme finds a prompt that she wants to write fic for. If the post is full, then that person would have no place to post the fill.
Alternatively, room is left for the random squeeing and cheerleading. Hope this helps. :D

Just wanted to say sorry if I came off as cold or bitchy or baity in the other thread, but I'd seen that kind of sentiment expressed in other memes and didn't want this one's growth compromised while the fantastic fics were still rolling in. :)

1. How many times have you seen the movie? Do you find it difficult to write for something that's still in theaters because you can't check the details?
2. What's your opinion on the ending? Do you think it's possible that there were two inceptions in the multi-layered dream?
3. The music. Do you have a favorite track?
4. Why don't more men dress in fancy suits?
5. Mal. We are told that she was lovely while she was alive. As a projection, she was quite the opposite. Were her actions justified? Do you think she truly was just a shade? Just give your general opinion of her.

1. Only once so far and, yes, this is a problem. It's always a little difficult without the source material to refer to for details, but I do believe any flaws we make right now in characterization can be excused as artistic flair and whatnot. The problem for me right now is that I really loved Ariadne, but feel as though I didn't pay enough attention to her to truly understand her. I haven't been able to write her yet, and really need another go at the movie to get a better sense of who she is

I honestly believe Eames doesn't believe in/need a totem. He struck me as the one most rooted to the real world out of the whole crew.
He probably carries one, but nearly never consults it. My thought is a lighter, so he can actually use it for something besides checking up on his reality.
