This has been a GREAT weekend in San Diego! The commissioning ceremony yesterday went very well, except for a generator going out and the PA was silent for a while. But we still got to tour the ship, which was pretty cool. Pat took us up on his "office", aka the flight deck. When the ship's in port he has a panoramic view of San Diego Bay. :D ( Read more... )

I'm back from the road trip to & from Minnesota for Chad & Esther's wedding. Bryce, Ben & I left Denver at about 6:45 Friday morning and got into Annandale at 10:45. We hung around for an hour before going to bed in one of Chad's family's trailers. They're really nice, hospitable folks.

Monday night we saw "Inherit the Wind", starring Christopher Plummer & Brian Dennehy. It's basically the 1925 Scopes "Monkey" Trial, with the names changed. Fascinating play.
