She fell down while playing outside our house yesterday.  I wasn't convinced that her arm was broken, because she just didn't seem like she was in all that much pain.  But, after her soccer game today, I could see that there was some swelling going on and it seemed like a trip in for an Xray was probably called for.  And she was right.  She should ( Read more... )

I put rag curls in Molly's hair last night, and I think she turned out pretty darned adorable.  This is her around 9:30/10 am.  By about 2, all she had left were slight waves.  I swear to god, she's not my kid.

 Molly turned 6 last week and had her birthday party, a raucous affair with a bunch of 3,5 and 6 year olds, on Saturday.  I still think that the perfect amount of time for a birthday party is about 1 and a half hours.  This party was 2 hours and just a *little* too long for me.  Short, sweet and to the point ( Read more... )

I picked up a book for each of the kids at the library, and handed them back in the car for the ride home.  Molly started looking at her book then saying "Little bear, little bear would you like some peas?" and otherlines.  I asked if she was making that up, and she said "no!  I'm reading it!"

Lo and behold, she was.

I want to keep track of the books I read, and this seems as good a place as any, so...
August 3, finished "Mistaken Identity" by Lisa Scottoline.

Today Molly had two big events. First, she started rolling over, from back to front. It seemed to take her a little bit by surprise - but she kept doing it. At least 4 times today. Secondly, she had her first taste of solid foods. Plain rice cereal, very runny. She didn't seem too impressed, but had about 6 or 7 spoons of it.

I've got a pair of dark blue eyes peering up at me over my boob while I type this, so things can't be all bad. However, today had its very annoying moments - fights, lack of sleep, non-napping children, etc. We're ending up on a fairly good note, getting dinner together and playing with the kids. Speaking of which, time for a little bit of face
