Molly turned 6 last week and had her birthday party, a raucous affair with a bunch of 3,5 and 6 year olds, on Saturday. I still think that the perfect amount of time for a birthday party is about 1 and a half hours. This party was 2 hours and just a *little* too long for me. Short, sweet and to the point.
The kids spent this afternoon building a "shelter for animals". They then decided that they were going to make money by taking pictures of people with the "nature". The cost for this service? $30.00 a pop. $49.99 if you wanted to "touch nature", too. I wish them lots of luck with this venture. (ahem)
On another front, when we first got our kitties, I pretty quickly became Jayne's person. She's my lap kitty and my snuggle in bed with me kitty. Zoe has been a friendly kitty, but aside from sleeping at the foot of my bed, she's not been all that snuggly. Except that lately she's suddenly adopted Molly as her person. When Molly goes to bed, Zoe follows. If Molly sits down for a while, Zoe will come sit next to her. I'm loving the cuteness, but can't figure out what prompted this. It can't be the fact that Molly has a penchant for carrying Zoe around and otherwise torturing her. Maybe Zoe's inner masochist is just coming out.
