Easing into fall

Sep 23, 2011 18:27

I noticed toward the beginning of last week that the leaves on the parkway trees had started changing. They're now getting yellower, but overall most trees are still green. Some of them have started changing; while driving around, I've noticed some of the red-leaved ones have all changed over, but again, most are still producing chlorophyll. I kind of like that, though, how striking the orange-red is against the green. It makes me want to pull out the camera, but of course if I'm the only one driving, it's kind of hard. Too bad I'm not more of a painter; I could paint myself a picture of it. When it was foggy the other day--did I mention that? It actually got foggier as the sun got higher, at least for a couple hours--I was out where there were a lot of pine and fir trees and it looked really cool, with each successive row another gradient away from green. Now that made me miss painting.

fog, fall, weather
