Fun with the upstairs computer

I got banished upstairs last night after my mother had trouble getting online...AGAIN. She continually blames me, yet the whole time they were gone, everything was fine. Also, the past few years when I've come back from camp, my mail (particularly AOL) has been royally messed up. How can I mess it up if I'm not even here, hmm? Plus, just me and my mom use that computer. Mom, do you not see the huge blinking neon lights pointing to you being the problem?

Anyway, so last night I got bored and felt like playing cards. I have several CDs of card games, and I loaded one onto the upstairs computer. Today, I felt like playing cards again, and when I got bored of that I thought about some of the other games we've had. This upstairs computer isn't our original upstairs computer, which we got ten years ago when I was a senior in high school. (That one finally died several years back.) This one came from dad's work or some sort of computer flea market (dad has a penchant for visiting those sorts of things). So, anyway, it's totally different and totally weird and God only knows what all he's done with it. There's like six hard drives here, I have no idea how to print, and any stuff I had on the other hard drive is apparently floating in the ether. I'm not even sure I know where the old computer went--the closet? The basement? Your guess is as good as mine.

So, anyway, one of the games I really liked was this demo called Caesar III. It's sort of like Sim City but back in the Greek and Roman heyday. I have a CD of Caesar II, which is okay, but it's not the same thing. I was digging around in all our CDs trying to see if I could recall where Caesar III is. I have a little CD holder that has some games and a couple of demo music CDs as well. Dad, meanwhile, has a small stack of CDs and empty jewel cases and sleeves on top of the computer desk. Why put them away to keep them safe and nice--even just in the jewel cases, not necessarily in, say, a CD holder--when you can make a pile of them? It's like CD Jenga. I was unable to find Caesar III, but I found Abbey Road. Yes, the Beatles album.
