Thunder rolls...in January?

Jan 07, 2008 18:45

For the second day in a row, we have set a record high. I want to say it was 63F, but I'm not totally sure. Regardless, this is now the second time in my life that I recall it being so warm at this time of year, and like last time the record temps are accompanied by high humidity and thunderstorms. Now, when you're in Chicago and the temps get above the norm in January (to the point where you're warmer than Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Phoenix), turbulent weather is expected. Rain? High winds? Yes. But tornado watches? That's a little much, and yet my area currently is under one. Tornadoes. In January. This does not bode well for the year.
