I feel like that sentence is the start of a Carnac skit...
I thought the most amusing part of today would be this morning, when not one, but two of my male coworkers were discussing nylons...and then started asking us, the ladies of the office, our opinions on said topic. Since most of us don't wear nylons on a regular basis, all we could really offer was to not go with the cheap brands. They run if you look at them funny. But, really, even the really nice, expensive ones can run really easily too if you're not careful. Anyway, so one of them went to Walgreens and when he came back, he announced that everyone there now thinks the second guy is a cross-dresser. Nice. (At least the second guy laughed when he heard that.)
But wait, there's more...
This afternoon, the first guy had to go to some sort of meeting, but he couldn't be found. In all seriousness, one of the girls (who isn't in the main part of the office) said, I think I saw him go into the closet...
Wait. So, he's in the closet? And he went out and bought himself nylons? Is there something we should know? Oh, too funny. For the record, I have no idea why he bought the nylons; I presume it had something to do with work. Or he's planning a heist. Either way.
But wait! I'm not done yet...
We'd been expecting big storms this afternoon. Right around 4, it started getting really dark and windy. The rain held off until I got home; dad got home a little later. Then he said that mom had called him at work, saying her driver's side window had gone down but wouldn't come back up. Oh, that's not good. And mom never got it up--gotta love power windows--and she did NOT make it home before it started pouring. Poor thing. She was supposed to go to Red Hat tonight but said, uh-uh, not with her window the way it was. Plus, she was pretty well soaked and just wanted to stay home and stay warm. She immediately called the dealership and is taking her car in tomorrow. Then dad wanted to have a look-see, just in case. I went into the laundry room for something when all of a sudden I heard something weird and...did dad just swear? I opened the garage door to find the hood, the trunk, and the driver's side door all open. Dad said he tried to get mom's window up manually...but it ended up shattering. Oh, holy crap. He got out of the car and closed the door; we could hear all sorts of tinkling as the glass broke some more on the inside. Nice. Um, I'm going to back away slowly now...
Needless to say, my mother was quite unhappy at that turn of events. Well, at least she already had an appointment. And, thankfully, she did end up calming down. Her voice had reached a pitch level that was extremely high, even for her. I'm surprised the dogs in the neighborhood didn't start howling.
It's raining again. And there's been a decent amount of lightning. I should go.
