The animal house is back in business
Signs of spring: The critters return to the yard.
Yesterday morning, I looked out in the yard at the tree near the shed and saw not one, but two tiny bunnies hopping around at its base. I love the tiny bunnies. I just want to squeeze them. Then, later, after my shower, I looked and saw two doves in the same area. A few minutes later...a cat. Uh-oh. Hide, bunnies and birdies. The ginger tabby appears ready to pounce. I watched it for a minute and it didn't move, just sitting there in a crouched position.
The birds in the neighborhood have been active and chirpy for a few weeks now, especially since it started getting lighter outside. This morning, I heard a different sort of bird sound--a quack. Yay, the ducks are back! Now that's a sure sign of spring. I love the ducks. They quack me up.
