I just did a gauge swatch for the Hatmione and I got the required 21 sts and 31 rnds= 4" in St st using my size 7 needles. the gauge for the Hermittens is 22 sts and 31 rnds= 4" in St st using size 6 needles. Would it be a bad idea to use size 7 for the Hermittens since it's so close to the Hatmione gauge? 

This week was very stressful for me, so I knitted more than usual; I tend to knit to de-stress myself. I started on the newer-style Gryffindor scarf with the Andean Silk. So I've completed my second-ever knitting project! My first was a Gryffindor scarf, and then I ran out and bought Charmed Knits and got to knitting the Hatmione.

about how many inches do you think are between the stripes on a typical POA style scarf? Is it 1/2-1 inch for the smaller stripes and 4 and 1/2 inches for the larger stripes? and it repeats 14 times or am I being wrong yet again about this? Does anyone else feel as if they need a translator on constant call to help with knitting patterns? Thanks ( Read more... )
