I got to see my mom last night. She is in town for her quarterly meeting with her counterparts in the Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard and took the earlier flight so that we could spend the evening together. I am having a hell of a time wrapping the quarter up. I have one more paper, a few more tests a two or three general silliness assignments left, then I'm done... But this last paper is just kicking my butt... The problem is in the prompt, its one of those "pick your favorite and tell me why" type papers. With class only on Tuesday and Thursday I feel like every weekend is a long weekend.... It makes it seem like every time I go "back" to class is an event worth comment, I have to remind myself that this same thing happened last week...

I didn't think I was going to make it there for a while but I have finished all the work I didn't do over the weekend... But now I need to stand up because I think my chair has made me loose all feeling in my rear...

So, the first day of class is over... I think I'll do all right.

My PoliSci prof is a bit of a cynic but he seems rather thoughtful and very knowledgeable. My US History profix has, unfortunately, a voice that is very easy to tune out... that might be a problem, but it is a rather lively time period so with some effort I should be able to stay ( Read more... )

My English teacher (the frighteningly buff grandma) has finally gotten on my nerves. She has left the realm of friendly discussion and moved into personal attack. I knew it was going to get obnoxious, just based on the things that we are discussing, but it came around a little faster that I expected. I'm reading The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down for my Ethnic Studies Class. It is about a Hmong family in Merced California and their daughter who has epilepsy. Well, at one point the family arranged for cow to be sacrificed for the little girl's health. The slaughtering was done at a ranch and the cow was brought into town in a Honda ( Read more... )
