Woke up feeling extremely sick. Turns out the "uneasiness" I've been feeling for the last few days was in fact the stomach flu. Not feeling too hot right now. Also, there was snow/wintery mix. Yay! Only a day late.

I am watching little balls of ice ping off bare tree limbs and clink against my window.

It is the coolest thing ever! (Pun intended.) I am sooo ready for winter to be here.

Work and school were canceled today and tomorrow, so I've been spending some quality time doing research and minor chores. Lots of rain and wind due to the storm, and a few power blips, but nothing too bad. Sump pumps are working fine and the basement hasn't flooded, all of which is good. So the entire Eastern seaboard is finalizing preparations for Hurricane Sandy (a.k.a Frankenstorm) which, no matter what happens, should at least prove to be interesting. The weathermen are saying that it has the potential to be another "perfect storm" due to the confluence of warmer tropical storm energy from the South and cooler non-tropical ( Read more... )

Snow!!! Finally. I was beginning to worry we wouldn't get any this year.

It's not really accumulating, but it's better than nothing. Certainly took everyone by surprise though since the weather forecast only mentioned rain.

Finally, finally got my car back, after it's completion date being delayed several times. I am very happy to have it back, though now I have to check everything to make sure it all works as it should. Lots and lots of rain lately. Everything is flooding, or at least, water has made its presence more apparent in some locals. Bridges and roads were closed, some people's cars and homes have waterdamage, but comparetively speaking nothing too severe. Mostly its just a nuisance.
