“The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for today and tomorrow, July 21 and 22 from noon to 8 p.m. each day…Excessive heat likely will continue on Saturday. Temperatures are expected to range from a high of 99 degrees today to 103 degrees tomorrow with heat index values up to 115.”
You know, there’s a reason this area used to be considered a “tropical” assignment during the summer. Right now it’s so humid you can literally see it hanging in the air like fog and there’s condensation dripping off the windows. Now, I’ve done the heat-thing before - it was 120 in Turkey when I was there two years ago - but rarely have I had to experience such miserable humidity. You know, the kind where you walk outside and need gills to breathe? Or where the wind feels like it was blasted out of a sauna? Simply miserable.
In addition to the awful forsaken weather, my tea mug shattered this morning with a crack going the entire length “from knave to chops”. So now I have no tea. Also, it was a mug I hand-painted myself in girl-scouts, which I don’t appreciate losing.
