Erik wasn't sure whether he should thank or hex the bird that had smacked into the window near his bed that morning. While he didn't normally appreciate being up before 10 AM on a Sunday, he did have a letter that needed writing, and thinking of birds made him think of owls and so on and so forth. So he'd spent a good deal of the morning prattling on about things that would hardly make sense to his parents. Though, to be fair, he had managed to sneak in a request for Juhi to visit Finland over the summer in there somewhere. Surely, his mother would be so happy to have someone on her side in the neverending debate of where to spend the summer holidays that she'd immediately agree to what he'd asked. Erik Cohen was a clever bloke when he wanted to be... or wasn't busy angsting over something like an empty Bertie Bott's box or another failed attempt to move the staircases.

Dragging himself up the stairs of the West Tower, Erik shook his head as his feet finally began to tread upon straw and droppings. Disgusting, and yet this was where ( ... )

Juhi whirled around at the sound of another human voice and grinned at the sight of Erik. She squeezed his hand quickly and gave a little, mocking bow. "Unbelievable as it may seem, it IS me; Ninju the one and only."

When Erik called out for Pirkko, the few owls who had been eyeing Juhi warily quickly awoke...and took off for the opposite side of the owlery. "BAH! Noooo!" Juhi took a step or two after them and then glanced back at the boy. "You're up early. You sleep okay?"

Before he could answer she followed his gaze, looking for Pirkko. Juhi hadn't seen the owl since its purchase during the last Hogsmeade trip. Much as Erik seemed to adore the bird, she remained cautious; after all, the first thing they'd seen it do was bite someone.

Then she had a thought, and, shifting her gaze specifically to the closer birds, pulled out the owl treats from her pocket. "Come on, Sleepies," Juhi said gently and rattled the box. "London's not far, and I've got foooooood."

No, Erik had not slept okay. After having yet another encounter with Wes, Erik was a bit uneasy. But to be honest, it was a night better than most in recent weeks, and that was worth something. So he simply shrugged his shoulders and grinned excitedly as Pirkko found her way to rest on his arm.

"I've got a letter for you, Pirkko. 'Tis very important it gets to my mother, yes?" he said to his owl affectionately and stroked her feathers carefully.

It was one of Erik's best qualities. Loving everything and everyone he could until his heart burst. Too bad that meant he didn't know how to back away when the situation called for it. Too much passion. A blessing and a curse, or something like that. But this was an average day, and an average moment, and it was perfect for just that reason.

"You are out of your mind, woman. You're scaring me with your silly box shaking. You just pick one, and they'll listen," Erik said with a laugh ( ... )

Juhi watched Pirkko head toward them and land on Erik's arm, a look of concern briefly passing over her face. Perhaps Erik's shrug meant that he'd slept fine, he just didn't consider it worth commenting on? She crept closer to the group of owls, trying to pick one out, and then turned to look at him indignantly ( ... )

This was a nice escape, as always. He was still in awe over the fact that he and Juhi could go from discussing something that made him feel horrible, to comforting each other and lifting his spirits by an insane amount. She was absolutely perfect, but he didn't tell her so. Chances were she'd argue him about it, because even if she was in love, she was still a Ravenclaw. Erik knew that if he ever did get a bit carried away with his dramatics, she'd do some thinking for him and bring him back down to earth. Though, they could both agree that not being completely in touch with reality was not such a bad thing at the moment. If wizards and witches really were magical, could they begin to float away when they felt like this? Erik didn't have time to work out an answer, because he had managed to cut off the oxygen supply to his brain.

He pulled away from Juhi, gasping for air and laughing at the same time, which resulted in an odd sort of coughing.

"Apparently it's possible to be a bit too tired for snogging? Or is it just passionate ( ... )

Juhi wasn't quite so distracted. She was worried about Erik. And she was absolutely in love with him, and kissing him like this still made her stomach jumpy; though that could have been because her nerves were on edge to begin with. He could usually convince her and carry her along on whatever crazy path he was going, but this was a lot of information all at once. As pieces of their conversation came back to her, however, she felt desperate to somehow prove to him that she was behind him no matter what; she wanted to be sure he knew how much she wanted him to just remain ERIK. Losing him was her biggest fear, after all, and there were ways for that to happen besides Wesley Broderick. She wanted to take everything away, but all she could do was comfort him, and kiss him ( ... )

If anyone saw Erik like this, it would probably be a tad embarrassing, and yet he was too happy to mind. He was giddy, or as close to it as possible. He laughed when she asked how he was doing. Always the one to crack jokes, he wanted to respond 'you tell ME' with a suggestive sort of smile, but she didn't leave him much room for a response. In fact, she was leaning in to kiss him again. Merlin. Well, he he could answer without literally saying anything ( ... )

Juhi could feel her heartbeat rattling her ribcage...or was it Erik's she was feeling? She wasn't even sure, and she certainly didn't care. she felt rooted to the spot, and she could feel everything Erik was trying to tell her without speaking, and everything she was telling, pass into her, and curl up and find a home there. She suddenly felt incredibly vulnerable, but it was alright. Erik was here.

He moved away from her and her arms went slowly down to her sides as she watched him, slightly concerned and mildly amused. She took a hesitant step toward him as he leaned against the wall, and she opened her mouth to say something when he laughed. She wasn't sure there WAS to say, though, and closed it again when he closed his eyes.

What have you done to me?Nothing! she thought. Nothing and nothing and nothing, compared to what you've done to me. She was completely terrified, in the moment he pulled her toward him, and she had no time to answer. Surely being this dependent on another person was not normal or safe? She was ( ... )
