In an attempt to find refuge from the heat yesterday I ended up in the mall. The highlight was having a Marvel vs. DC argument with some 10-year-old boys in Bootlegger, where superhero t-shirts had attracted me.

Kids: These suck! Marvel is better.
Me: No way, DC rocks!
Kids: Well, most of the good characters are Marvel. Like Flash!

With most of my college friends wrapping up exams this past week, there's been naught for me to do but watch cartoons, namely Justice League.

I did a job interview yesterday. Wee! It was for Student Connections, providing website consultations for businesses (and fixing their websites). While not a permanent position, it seems designed to be exactly what I need: a transition into the field. I bought V for Vendetta at Chapters in Moncton, in preperation for the movie's release. I saw LXG before reading the comic and was amazed at how much better the latter was, so I thought I'd do it in the proper order this time.

Went to the hfx_cartoonists's meeting tonight. It was held at Uncommon Grounds cafe, a change from the usual church hall. At first it was only me and Hope and Bryan, who organize it, but some more peeps turned up. I used the two hours (in addition to chatting) to ink my first Brian Eno (web) comic. Fame! I have achieved it in some measure. Apparently I was mentioned in a recent NSCAD art history lecture. The professor mentioned Beau Brummell and someone shouted " He's in Karen's comic!" This is all from a trusted source, but alas, she didn't know who my random fan could be.

This morning I got to pick my studio advisor, and went for Jan Peacock. She does media arts, which seems closer to what I do than painters or sculptures, what with the copying and bookbinding aspect of comic book creation. Lots of festivities lately . . . Christmas party in rez, complete with Secret Santa. I recieved a box of pink feathers from this (yay!) and bestowed a notebook with an elephant carriage on it to my person, Evany. She liked.
