Gods and heroes.

With most of my college friends wrapping up exams this past week, there's been naught for me to do but watch cartoons, namely Justice League.

I've seen some episodes of this on television, but haven't committed to watching the series until now. The first season is kinda rough - basically w/ plots similar to Star Trek: The Animated Series and thus beyond cliché - but I know it will become awesome by season three, turning in Unlimited and including far more characters.

All hopped up on superheroes, I went to Strange Adventures on Saturday planning to buy comics, but emerged instead with a Freddie Mercury action figure. Oops.

I'm a little unsure of what to buy these days, though . . . I'd like to concentrate on one character and collect the related series/ books. I thought it would be Green Lantern, but the new volume is just wringing Hal Jordan through all his Silver Age scenarios.

To whom in the DC stable shall I shift my focus? Supes, Bats, WW? Or someone more obscure? Weighty stuff, I know.

I also started Neil Gaiman's American Gods on the weekend. Will have a full review when finished, but for now I can say he's no Roger Zelazny, however indebted to him Neil claims to be.

books, movies and tv, comics
