Congratulations on your candidacy, Lucius.
*smiles, amused*
First headmaster, then Minister for Magic though... should we be expecting Prime Minister Malfoy any time soon?

=Grins widely= Thank you, Dahlia. You will be attending the party for the launch of my campaign, won't you?

=Sniffs slightly= Merlin no. Minister will be quite enough for me, I think.

*smiles and shakes her head*
I wouldn't miss it for the world, Lucius. I'm quite intrigued at how you'll cope with the paparazzi and I think the look on Bagnold's face would be quite worth the bother of having to deal with the crowds.

*nods*
Glad to hear it. I wonder if Andi knows what she helped unleash on the world.

I'll cope with the press in the same way I aleays have. Give them a smile and some tit-bit of information and they are happy. You just have to make them play the game to your rules.

Unleash? Dahling, you make me sound like a monster. It's rather hurtful. You and Andi were training me up for this.

*knocks on the door, glancing around the corridor before he opens it - slipping inside Lucius's office, newspaper in hand*

*catches Lucius as he stands from his desk, kissing him warmly -dropping the paper as he wraps his arms around the man, pages scattering on the floor*
I read it in the paper this morning. How did you ever keep it a secret? I'm so impressed with you, Lucius.

*earnestly*
You'll make the most wonderful Minister.

=Lucius grins, ear-to-ear, regaining his balance after the young man launces himself at him.= You did, did you? Did they give me a nice write-up? =Kisses the boy, uncoiling one arm to push the door closed, dragging Rabastan into the room=

I can keep some secrets, you know. Besides, I wasn't sure what you'd make of it.

I've not quite won yet, Rabastan.

A wonderful write-up, you come off exceptionally well. *kisses him again, grinning just as widely*

Why? Did you think I'd be angry?

*fervently*
But you will. I'll make sure you will.

=If possible, his grin widens and he leads Rabastan back towards the big, comfortable sofa pushed up against the wood-panelled wall.= It wasn't too gushing or over the top, was it? I haven't had the chance to read it yet. I've been flooded with owls. I could do with a hand, in fact...

Not angry. But I thought you would... be upset I didn't ask for your help. You were already busy, and I didn't want to distract you.

=He laughs= And you'll help me, won't you? When I get into office? And you'll come to the campaign launch party tonight?

Lucius,

Unfortunate timing, but suppose elections are pre-scheduled. Hope it serves as some distraction.

Obviously can't help now. Will leave it to you & N whether should avoid association until campaign over or if avoidance after recent furor would attract suspicion.

Trust you're both well. Luck.

Severus-

I couldn't help the timing, I would have held it off if I could but there was very little I could do. And I won't wait another 5 years for another shot.

Narcissa and I wanted you come to the campaign launch party, but as circumstances didn't allow... perhaps you could come to the party at the Manor on the 30th? All the old crowd, you won't feel out of place. And she misses you terribly. Visit for her sakes.

You are always welcome, we will arrange something, you have my word. Your advice is, as always, appriciated, if you want to give it.

Lucius,

Understood. Show will go on regardless; you want to keep up.

Will come, but can't promise to be an asset to the gathering. Please tell N in advance I really do not want any chocolate.

Anything I can do, as ever.

Severus-

Not so much want as have to. I can't let something so important to society crumble.

I will pass on your acceptance and dietry requirements. Will you have the duck or venison?

I would like very much to hear your opinion- perhaps in person on the 30th will be best? I shall look forward to seeing you there.

What brought this about, father?

You mother and I had discussed it, Draco, and taken advise from a number of friends. It was a smart career move. And may have been successful, with you on the way, our popularity ratings would have sky-rocketed. Unfortunately... we couldn't predict the future as accurately as we had hoped.

May I help you campaign? I could make badges and banners. Or perhaps I could kiss the babies? *joking, of course* I'd love to see you in office. Ah, the perks of being the son of the Minister of Magic!

=Smiles= Of course you may, if your mother allows. Perhaps it would be good for you to come with me on offical business? A businessman's holiday?

*shifts Draco in her arms then smiles at Lucius*
The article seemed very nice. I had a letter from the editor of Pure Parenthood asking if we'd consider an interview with pictures of all three of us.

=Smiles, leaning in to kiss her cheek and stroke over the baby's tiny fingers= Would you like to? I can't see how it would do any harm. It would be a very useful oppertunity too, I imagine.

*smiles back at him then caresses his arm lightly with her free hand*
I think it would be a very wise move as well. The media has been clamouring for photos of the baby. And to show the three of us together- a young Pureblood family? It could only help your cause, I think.

*leans her head to the side in thought, eyes roaming over Lucius' features*
Something more casual even. Perhaps all in whites? Too much you think?

I can't say I blame them =Smiles widely at her and thne looks back down at his son, stroking feather-light over Draco's cheeks, trying not to wake him= What time were you thinking of? It will have to be in the Manor, I don't want Draco leaving the house yet.

All in white? It would suit you and the baby, but I am not sure it would be so flattering on me.

Lucius is far far too protective of that boy. Also have you read the thread between Draco and Lucius about a possible baby sister?
