Congratulations on your candidacy, Lucius.
*smiles, amused*
First headmaster, then Minister for Magic though... should we be expecting Prime Minister Malfoy any time soon?

=Grins widely= Thank you, Dahlia. You will be attending the party for the launch of my campaign, won't you?

=Sniffs slightly= Merlin no. Minister will be quite enough for me, I think.

I wouldn't miss it for the world, Lucius. I'm quite intrigued at how you'll cope with the paparazzi and I think the look on Bagnold's face would be quite worth the bother of having to deal with the crowds.

*nods*
Glad to hear it. I wonder if Andi knows what she helped unleash on the world.

I'll cope with the press in the same way I aleays have. Give them a smile and some tit-bit of information and they are happy. You just have to make them play the game to your rules.

Unleash? Dahling, you make me sound like a monster. It's rather hurtful. You and Andi were training me up for this.

I've never really needed to. I somehow doubt they'll be happy with tid-bits now though, especially as it gets closer to campaign time.

Me? You know I don't take much of an interest in these things - I can just about name our current Minister on a good day. No, I think the blame for that bit of your training rests solely on Andi's shoulders.

Then I suppose I'll just have to start thinking up more and more interesting things to tell them. They'll want to interview you, one of these days. Just don't tell them about the slippers, will you, Dahling?

=Smiles= Maybe it does, but I don't think either of you expected this of me, did you?

*raises an eyebrow*
Oh, believe me Lucius, they've already tried.
*laughs*
I'll be the very model of discretion if one does eventually catch me though, I promise. I would have thought your prediliction for brightly colored footwear in school would be the least of your worries all things considered.

*shrugs*
I remember mentioning something when you were thinking of trying a bid for Headmaster a few years ago. But no, I didn't think you'd act on it. Certainly not so soon.

Have they? Then what did you tell them, out of interest? Someone will dig up the rumours at some point. I can't say I'm looking forwards to it.

=Smirks= Best to strike while the iron is hot, so they say. I don't want to have to wait another 5 years for the oppertunity either. And getting into power now would be very very useful... especially with Narcissa pregnant.

Nothing; I said they tried, not that they'd succeeded. You probably wouldn't be surprised to find out how few reporters will stick around to ask questions when they're being mobbed by vairous plants trying to eat them.

And while they might find the rumours eventually; they won't be hearing any of them from me.

That's true. It is probably the best time for you to run for this all things considered. Have you got all the support you need for it?

I thought you had them all under control, Dahlia? And although I know you tried it in 7th year, you can't live out in a greenhouse forever.

There is a lot I do not want anyone to find out... I'm going to need some pensieves. And a new vault in Gringotts...

=Pauses for a moment, having to press his lips together= Yes. All I could need...

You know Dahlia tells you random things sometimes? It's just happened to me with Lucius - when a woman says the word support, Lucius wants to laugh. I think it's to do with bras. He's an odd boy.

Of course I do. They don't go after me or anyone else I don't want them too. As for living in the greenhouses, look at my workload and then say I can't.

What have you been up to, Lucius? Still, there's my vault if you wish to make us of it - it's not as if I do.

*smiles*
Good, I'm glad. Feel free to ask if you need anything though?

*snerks* Oh dear. Dahlia just gave me a knowing smile - I think it didn't surprise her at all...

I'm not sure I believe you on that. Remember that fly-trap thing you had in the common room? That nipped me once. You can't say I deserved it, either... And you're workload can't be all that much. Water this pot or that pot, replant that man-eatting orchid, harvest that posionous daisy...

=Shakes his head= I wouldn't want them to be able to trace anything back to you, if anything were to happen. Best to have most of this sort of thing out of my head before we really get into the campaign. Find a few good pensieves and then lose or bury them somewhere.

I will do Dahlia. In fact, do you think you could bump off the opposition for me?

she knows him too well!

*sly smile*
And why not? What were you doing to it?

*sighs*
It's significantly more than that. Our Lord has got me researching various areas and on building up supplies for Severus among other things. And this is besides my actual job. I really do wish it was just watering and re-potting.

Lucius. If, god forbid, anything were to happen, they're going to come to me anyway. But yes, perhaps you're right, it would be best to get things out of reach before you really start being examined.

*laughs*
I think not. People might be a little suspicious if every candidate but you suddenly dropped dead. I might be able to provide a few... distractions though, if you want.

Well, she should do, shouldn't she?

I certainly wasn't poking it with my wand. Certainly not. Never dream of it...

Ah. Well, I suppose that would be a little more diffecult... would you like to borrow and elf or two? Not very good for persission work, but they might make things a little easier?

But it wouldn't be in your possession at least. That's the point. Besides, I have a few more resorces to keep things hidden away.

=Wide grin= What sort of distractions?

very true! poor girl. BRAS! he he he...

*folds her arms but the smile remains*
Of course you weren't.

*shakes her head*
No, it's fine. I've already got ours working on it and I'm coping, it just doesn't leave much free time. *short laugh* But what use have I ever had for that anyway?

I suspect having your dirty laundry, so to speak, would be the least of my worries if they started looking into things on my end.

*smirks*
Let's just say I learnt a few tricks from Fabian over the years. Nothing harmful but certainly enough to keep whoever it is busy for a while...

=almost sheepish= I just told you I wasn't...

Well, you're always welcome at the Manor. Or anywhere else. Merlin knows I'm busy too but... well, we all need some time off sometimes, don't we?

=Smiles= Well, if you had my dirty laundry there would be all sorts of interesting rumours, wouldn't there?

I learnt a few things from Fabian too. Although I dare say yours were more useful...
