Lucius,

Unfortunate timing, but suppose elections are pre-scheduled. Hope it serves as some distraction.

Obviously can't help now. Will leave it to you & N whether should avoid association until campaign over or if avoidance after recent furor would attract suspicion.

Trust you're both well. Luck.

I couldn't help the timing, I would have held it off if I could but there was very little I could do. And I won't wait another 5 years for another shot.

Narcissa and I wanted you come to the campaign launch party, but as circumstances didn't allow... perhaps you could come to the party at the Manor on the 30th? All the old crowd, you won't feel out of place. And she misses you terribly. Visit for her sakes.

You are always welcome, we will arrange something, you have my word. Your advice is, as always, appriciated, if you want to give it.

Lucius,

Understood. Show will go on regardless; you want to keep up.

Will come, but can't promise to be an asset to the gathering. Please tell N in advance I really do not want any chocolate.

Anything I can do, as ever.

Not so much want as have to. I can't let something so important to society crumble.

I will pass on your acceptance and dietry requirements. Will you have the duck or venison?

I would like very much to hear your opinion- perhaps in person on the 30th will be best? I shall look forward to seeing you there.

Lucius,

Society will crumble will-you-nil-you, one way or another. The question is always what to shore up, what to rebuild new. But we can talk then. Afraid I've rather gone off duck.

S

Venison, you evil thing! XD
Are you planning on doing the meeting in a post? If not, I'd be fine with going on with the thread there. :)

A fair point, but I'd like to delay it as long as I possibly can, and yes, by shoring up and rebuilding. But there is a lot that needs to be done and I need more architects. Interested in lending a hand?

Lucius

Veal is worse!
And I was going to do it on this post, but I'm waiting for Megan to have time to play too =misses Narcissa=

Lucius,

Judging from the reaction of my new ... colleagues, I clearly have no real idea of what this job will entail, and what with other obligations, would not feel right making promises to you until I do. Can guarantee at least a willing ear.

S

ps: p. sourpuss apparently under impression am triple-amputee leper mouse. v. annoying.

Not to a Potter! XD
(pats) Invites can always be 'sent around' later, or a new thread opened. ^_^

Settling into new patterns takes time. Narcissa and I have faith in you. The garantee is most welcome, however.

Lucius.

PS - The new job is stressful, I take it?

Oh yes... =smirks= Do you want the stuffed sparrow for starters too?
That is also very true.

And sorry for posting with personal journal. Very embarrasing.

Lucius,

But expected, I trust.

So far merely time-consuming. Refraining from hexing certain people's starched bobby-socks off...

S

I think I want the vegetarian option! ;p

No worries. Although for a second, for some reason, I thought it was a different Lucius!

Hoped for, but not expected.

Your self-control has always been good, Severus. Don't let yourself down now.

Lucius

Carrots shaped like thunder-bolts?

Eeek! Was it the Slytherin iconage?

Lucius,

Since when?
No fear.

S

For throwing at the infidels?
Nah; it just seems like something a Lucius would do. ;)

Since I married Narcissa.
When have I ever been afraid of anything?

Lucius

Of course! =sharpens the already pointy carrots=

Lucius,

Enclosed please find a gargling solution which should help flush out the doxy which seems to have crawled up your nose and built its nest. It shouldn't interact badly with the babbling beverage you seem to have taken.
I can think of one or two occasions this summer alone where only a damned fool wouldn't have been.

I hope you mean your campaign speeches to be a bit more sensicle.
I'll assume you're not actually inviting speculation.

S

bwahaha
Hee, he has to work so hard to stay droopy around Luke and Cissa! ♥

I'm having someone else write them for me. Don't you think I know how this game is played?

Speculate all you want. If you can think of one example, I swear I will fund whatever project or research you choose for a year.

Lucius

I'm just thinking about what sort of dips to have with the thunder-bolt carrots...
I find it hard not to want to cuddle Severus and simultaneously run away screaming from his vocabulary...

Lucius,

Politician's speeches are ghostwritten? I'm so disillusioned.
The last few weeks aside, I don't mind admitting I was out of my mind while Draco was being born, and I've helped Mo helped at births before.

S

Ranch or blue cheese!
And his cooking! He makes things up, you know. Not quite as bad as Lewis Carroll, but... (eyes him)

Ha!

That was frightening. It was mildy sickening watching your wife's body turn inside out NEVER TELL NARCISSA It was interesting to watch the miricle of birth and new life first hand and I wasn't frightened. I was nervous and vaguely nauseous

Lucius

oh yes... yummies!
Oh really? Hmm, bad Severus. =tuts=
