Apparently, Stephen J. Cannell died at age 69. I did not know this. He's the first creator/showrunner of any of my fandoms to die. Okay, Kim Manners died, but he wasn't the showrunner for SPN. And I'm still sad about that. This makes me sad because I swear the guy created like 1/3rd of the hit shows of the 1980s another 3rd was created by Donald P. Bellesario, and the last 3rd were sitcoms. And I just now realized how much '80s TV I've seen.
Yeah, yeah, I'm an A-Team fan, but I was also totally addicted to 21 Jump Street reruns during Summer '07. Which Kim Manners directed a few episodes of. Weird. Oh, and I've watched me a bit of The Rockford Files. So anyway, 'tis very, very sad. I hope he rests in peace.
This is eerie because earlier today, for no particular reason, I was thinking about that scene in the pilot episode of Castle where Castle plays poker with Cannell and James Patterson, and how amusing it was. Then I thought that they should do that again. But alas...
grief,
