Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch...

Guess what just came on the radio? *grin*

I'm continuing to wade through life making rather heavy weather of it, just now. I'm sure I'll lighten up again eventually and am trying to remind myself that I only have to cope with this ten minutes, right now!

What I really wanted to say was thank you to aitchemelle for her home made chips recipe left on here as a comment the other day - I had a go today at making some to have with my lunchtime salmon. They worked beautifully!

What I did was this (I amended the original suggestion because I am scared of Frylight spray *g*):

- Chopped up my potatoes in to chip shapes, left the skin on.
- Rubbed some sunflower oil all over a baking tray.
- Put the chips on the baking tray and sprinkled black pepper and salt all over them.
- Cooked them at gas mark 7 for about 35 minutes.

They were absolutely delicious and I will definitely do it again! Much easier than I expected and far nicer than the oven chips I've been buying!

The sun was seen, briefly for a little while this afternoon. Not proper sunshine, but definite brightness through the clouds. I'd forgotten how much difference a bit of light can make!

Good grief the children are grumpy and argumentative this evening. I wonder how early I can conceivably send a nine year old and an eleven year old to bed?!
