I do them like that, too, and perhaps spray a little olive oil over them before cooking.

You can also make gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous what I call "un-fried" potatoes in a saucepan in which you have put a little olive oil or similar (doesn't need much), and you add the potatoes which you have cut into either chips or cubes, and put the lid on, so they sort-of steam, sort-of fry. Shake the saucepan periodically (preferable to stirring, to keep the steam in) to mix them up, and when they're cooked salt and pepper (and perhaps a little garlic salt if your family like it). I did these to go with our venison burgers on Sunday, and they really are good!

You could go round and put all the clocks forward an hour or so and trick them into going to bed ;)

YAY! I am glad they worked for you too! When I first started Weight Watchers about three years ago, we made them as a 'chip fix' for when you really have that craving! Now I rarely bother with oven chips (although potato waffles made their way into my basket today!)!

"If you're that cranky you must be tired. Bed, now."

I make chips like that a couple of times a week, so easy as no need to peel :) I par boil mine for 10 mins too.
