This morning at the Scout Hut went really well. :-) They had done a great job setting it up for the 'hikers', with a laptop projecting scenes of mountains onto the wall beside them as they walked, as well as random facts about mountains and the updated statistics of how many feet they had all walked between them coming up every so often! Oh and dry ice was pumped out at regular intervals to look like they were walking through mist! There was a really good atmosphere and everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves. By the time we left they had walked almost half their targetted distance, and that was after 2 hours with 4 hours still to go!
I loved helping in the kitchen - I am in my element doing something like that; I'm not good at organising events but I love being a minion and far prefer being on the selling side of the counter to the buying side! We poured an awful lot of orange squash for the walkers, and sold tea, coffee, cakes, and sausage and bacon butties to the parents. Being in charge of teamaking was great as it meant I could make sure my own mug was topped up at regular intervals ;-)
This afternoon we stayed in; Tim did some painting with his tester pots in his new office (L3's old bedroom) and I set to work sorting out L2's downstairs room so that L3's stuff would fit in there for a while during the rest of the room organising. That took absolutely ages but it is so much better now. I also put away the entire week's worth of dry washing, and did two more loads of washing which now means I feel far more on top of the laundry again. It had been overwhelming me quite severely this week.
Having done all of that, I then tackled the paperwork that has been waiting all week, which means I now feel more organised, rather virtuous, and should be able to relax properly, guilt free, this evening. I don't really do guilt free relaxing, but I shall try.
mrsrevj has lent me the dvd of Music and Lyrics, which I have never seen, and Tim is out doing a vigil tonight so I am going to settle down soon and watch that on my laptop, while knitting a bit more of my cardigan. It sounds terribly squally and rainy outside so I am revelling in the fact that I am not out there in it! :-)
Tomorrow involves Remembrance Sunday parade service at St Andrews and then a pub lunch out with my parents so we can catch up with them and find out how their holiday went (they went away last Sunday and returned today). Looking forward to that.
