Mitsubishi Eclipses gave you a choice of AWD *or* convertible, in 95-99. Does anyone know if there's any structural/etc reason that one couldn't retrofit the AWD parts into a convertible?

I noticed that Edelbrock released a carburetor designed for e85, which is sort of interesting... but it costs like $600+, in which case, why don't I just buy an aftermarket throttle body injection system and tune it appropriately? I finally managed to pry the heater core out of the mach 1, even though I couldn't get the heater assembly all the way out. I think I might've lost one of the bolts on it, but we'll see. Anyway, at least the work was justified, because sure enough, one corner of the heater core was leaking. As a result, all the foam around there is all crusty ( Read more... )

I drove "conservatively" on the way home from school tonight, and managed to eke out 37.3 MPG from the 328. I'm skeptical of it being that high, but still, who am I to argue with the computer. And I did go on a 60-mile or so trip with the low fuel light on. Plus that was doing uncouth things like allowing myself to slow down up hills, etc ( Read more... )

The highway to forced induction continues to be mottled with potholes. The one guy with the 6-71 had someone looking at it locally today so I'm not holding my breath on it still being around -- though it also needs a pretty thorough rebuild (understandable, after 20 years on a commercial truck.
