Heater core

May 26, 2006 20:09

I finally managed to pry the heater core out of the mach 1, even though I couldn't get the heater assembly all the way out. I think I might've lost one of the bolts on it, but we'll see. Anyway, at least the work was justified, because sure enough, one corner of the heater core was leaking. As a result, all the foam around there is all crusty and covered in rust from all the semi-corrosive steam being released.

By the time I got it out, I was so frustrated with everything that I decided it best to just call it a day and not put the new one in yet (plus I'd like to pressure test the new one and make sure it doesn't have any hairline leaks). So tomorrow I'll verify whether I want to replace any parts (gaskets, foam, etc) or just slap it back together and call it good.

In other news, I've been feeling particularly "wonky" today. Dunno if I'm maybe dehydrated or what, but not much appetite, low energy, etc. Bleh. May be related to my stomach thing from yesterday, or who knows. At least I have a weekend to sleep it off, but I'm getting really tired of having the warranty on my body expire ;P
