I recall having a discussion with someone a few months back about Tesla Motors, and how it was tempting to go talk to them about jobs, but they were out in California, which I now refuse to live in, due to its cost of living which I affectionately refer to as "retardedly high."
Well, imagine my surprise to hear that they're now talking about staffing an engineering center in Rochester Hills... one of the cities I'm looking for houses in, no less.
So I guess the moral of the story is to be careful what you wish for. I may see what they're up to and send over a resume just in case, but I doubt I'd change jobs, since frankly the pay-to-actual-work ratio is pretty favorable where I'm at. Granted, that probably can't last, but then again, I'm reluctant to suggest that a startup car company can, either. Still, at least they're doing "neat sutff" with new technology. If not electric stuff today, maybe they'll come out with something revolutionary in a few more years.
Oh, and just as an indication of Michigan's tendency toward conservative moral structure, today's Free Press tells us: "Michigan's second-highest court says that anyone involved in an extramarital fling can be prosecuted for first-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony punishable by up to life in prison."
And in still other news, I'm taking a few hours off work due to the resurgance of aforementioned kidney stone symptoms. So we'll see if today's the lucky day. I need to have a little "chat" with the doctor, I think.
