And ngl I feel that while I did write a lot and did enjoy writing most all of what I wrote this feels very much like it's a high quantity post with mediocre quality. Oh WELL. TOO LATE NOW. Let's hope for better quality next year!

Now to the questions.
01. Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?:
I wrote more! I never start a year thinking I'm going to write a lot fic. I have WIPs left over from the year before I take into the new year and hope I can work on them and finish them and maybe even post them, but aside from that I don't have huge plans in terms of fic writing. I'm very much Let What Inspires Inspire! fic writer, I think. Sometime I'll even be an fandom for years before I end up writing for it. Or I'll just lock onto something -- a ship, a character, a movie -- and that will help me produce a higher quantity of fic than expected. There's always stuff I want to write for, but I don't (because I don't feel I'd do it justice or the ideas come easily), and there's always stuff I don't think I will write for and next thing I know FIC COMES POURING OUT.
02. What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?:
Ruby/Belle from Once Upon A Time.
Snow White and the Huntsman, because I didn't even know about it, but that press tour and Snow/Eric Huntsman was so beautiful to me.
Women of the Otherworld fandom as I had been unfamiliar with the books before. Same of the Darkest Power fandom.
BLEACH OMG WHERE DID IT COME FROM. AND OMG THE CAPTAINS OF THE GOTEI 13!! I mean I wrote mostly Ichigo/Rukia and only one fic dealing with the Captains specifically (MOTHER'S WOMB) and a few that featured them (EDGE OF SEVENTEEN, AT THE END OF THE DAY, EARLY CAT…) but these characters and their messed up military-political dynamics are kinda everything to me???? I love them a lot. I love that Isshin used to be one of them. LOL BLEACH HDU.
03. What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?:
MOTHER'S WOMB has a special place in my heart, but legit I think only Emma read it and cared about it because tbh it's a lot of mental canon and speculation about shit and it's an ensemble fic that doesn't really revolve around ship or even a character (though you could argue Kisuke bc i have a bias) but around all the secrets kept. IDK I just really feel warmly towards the dynamics I step up in that fic. I also really had a lot of fun (mentally) building IT COULD BE SWEET.
04. Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?:
LOL EVERYTHING ABOUT PENDULUM and in some way I think I failed there. I changed the tense half way through and maybe it was a bad idea not because I think the final tense doesn't work but because I think the change hurt the fic somewhat. IDK. I had very good concrit comments on it from people who read it but like I wish I had had a someone to go back and forth with me on it after? I learnt… maybe I shouldn't write long fic. I'm not the kind of writer that everyone enjoys.
05. Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?:
FINISH THE REST OF PENDULUM. Finish the Chuck Rule 63 project. Let things happen as they happen.

The SWATH fics have gotten the most AO3 hits, but on LJ it was WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU TODAY? SAME THING AS YESTERDAY that got the most responses. (that however was the ao3 link.)

A lot of the Bleach fics to be honest (again, EDGE OF…, MOTHER'S WOMB, PERCEPTION OF TRUTH) but to mix it up a bit: THEY NEVER WERE. What can I say, (found) families and loyalty and it all getting twisted up inside.
Sexiest Story:
I think I wrote a lot less porn this year that imagined because well… I always want to write my ships macking, but then I don't…? LOL, w/e. I guess it would be a toss up between PRESSED UNDER THE SKIN or AT END OF THE DAY, but really a lot my story have sexuality in them… and LATE NIGHT WAITING I think has a lot of soft sexiness to it.
Sweetest Story:
By title alone: IT COULD BE SWEET. Maybe IF THERE WERE EVER A LUCKY KIND; the sweet~ side of Derek Souza.

Easiest to Write:
FIRST DATES / UNPLANNED / STARS ARE INDIFFERENT TO ASTRONOMY were all literally written in one sitting the second i opened the file. First Date was actually originally written in tumblr post of all things.
This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most:
I WANT THOR AND JANE TO MAKE OUT A LOT AND IF NO ONE ELSE WILL WRITE IT I GUESS I WILL. But seriously the same theme as always I think: I explore aspects of character I enjoy that I don't see enough in the text they live in. I like AUs, I want to see happy ending. You know, normal fic stuff.

I'm not even going to attempt the math for how many words I wrote. 55 fics though. 39 without the advent calendar, which is the more accurate number I feel. And ngl I feel that while I did write a lot and did enjoy writing most all of what I wrote this feels very much like it's a high quantity post with mediocre quality. Oh WELL. TOO LATE NOW. Now to the questions.
01. Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?:
I wrote more! I never start a year thinking I'm going to write a lot fic. I have WIPs left over from the year before I take into the new year and hope I can work on them and finish them and maybe even post them, but aside from that I don't have huge plans in terms of fic writing. I'm very much Let What Inspires Inspire! fic writer, I think. Sometime I'll even be an fandom for years before I end up writing for it. Or I'll just lock onto something -- a ship, a character, a movie -- and that will help me produce a higher quantity of fic than expected. There's always stuff I want to write for, but I don't (because I don't feel I'd do it justice or the ideas come easily), and there's always stuff I don't think I will write for and next thing I know FIC COMES POURING OUT.
02. What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?:
Ruby/Belle from Once Upon A Time.
Snow White and the Huntsman, because I didn't even know about it, but that press tour and Snow/Eric Huntsman was so beautiful to me.
Women of the Otherworld fandom as I had been unfamiliar with the books before. Same of the Darkest Power fandom.
BLEACH OMG WHERE DID IT COME FROM. AND OMG THE CAPTAINS OF THE GOTEI 13!! I mean I wrote mostly Ichigo/Rukia and only one fic dealing with the Captains specifically (MOTHER'S WOMB) and a few that featured them (EDGE OF SEVENTEEN, AT THE END OF THE DAY, EARLY CAT…) but these characters and their messed up military-political dynamics are kinda everything to me???? I love them a lot. I love that Isshin used to be one of them. LOL BLEACH HDU.
03. What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?:
MOTHER'S WOMB has a special place in my heart, but legit I think only Emma read it and cared about it because tbh it's a lot of mental canon and speculation about shit and it's an ensemble fic that doesn't really revolve around ship or even a character (though you could argue Kisuke bc i have a bias) but around all the secrets kept. IDK I just really feel warmly towards the dynamics I step up in that fic. I also really had a lot of fun (mentally) building IT COULD BE SWEET.
04. Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?:
LOL EVERYTHING ABOUT PENDULUM and in some way I think I failed there. I changed the tense half way through and maybe it was a bad idea not because I think the final tense doesn't work but because I think the change hurt the fic somewhat. IDK. I had very good concrit comments on it from people who read it but like I wish I had had a someone to go back and forth with me on it after? I learnt… maybe I shouldn't write long fic. I'm not the kind of writer that everyone enjoys.
05. Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?:
FINISH THE REST OF PENDULUM. Finish the Chuck Rule 63 project. Let things happen as they happen.

PENDULUM has gotten the most AO3 hits, by the sake (I think) of length and it's related to Avengers fandom which gets a lot readers. Same for DON'T WE ALL WANT HAPPY ENDINGS?
The SWATH fics have gotten the most AO3 hits, but on LJ it was WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU TODAY? SAME THING AS YESTERDAY that got the most responses. (that however was the ao3 link.)

A lot of the Bleach fics to be honest (again, EDGE OF…, MOTHER'S WOMB, PERCEPTION OF TRUTH) but to mix it up a bit: THEY NEVER WERE. What can I say, (found) families and loyalty and it all getting twisted up inside.
Sexiest Story:
I think I wrote a lot less porn this year that imagined because well… I always want to write my ships macking, but then I don't…? LOL, w/e. I guess it would be a toss up between PRESSED UNDER THE SKIN or AT END OF THE DAY, but really a lot my story have sexuality in them… and LATE NIGHT WAITING I think has a lot of soft sexiness to it.
Sweetest Story:
By title alone: IT COULD BE SWEET. Maybe IF THERE WERE EVER A LUCKY KIND; the sweet~ side of Derek Souza.

FIRST DATES / UNPLANNED / STARS ARE INDIFFERENT TO ASTRONOMY were all literally written in one sitting the second i opened the file. First Date was actually originally written in tumblr post of all things.
This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most:
I WANT THOR AND JANE TO MAKE OUT A LOT AND IF NO ONE ELSE WILL WRITE IT I GUESS I WILL. But seriously the same theme as always I think: I explore aspects of character I enjoy that I don't see enough in the text they live in. I like AUs, I want to see happy ending. You know, normal fic stuff.
