Postponing the "procedure"

Aug 26, 2008 13:19

Hey, folks, the medical world is stranger than any fiction.  My MD's office did not bother to tell me that there were other options, but I had conversations with people--so irritating of me to actually talk to folks and do some research--and we are now postponing the diagnostic test at the hospital (many thousand bucks) in favor of the same procedure done in the office (for many hundred bucks).  So I will save some money.  Next, and  I now have more time to do this thoughtfully, is the set of conversations with the nurse at the "in office facility" down the hall about pain meds and which ones I can have and why (s/he thinks) I need them and why I know I don't.  This I have done before, actually.  All in all, I am relieved.

Daughter is doing well, life is going well, I'm swimming again, the band is making vague noises about a gig and practices...life is good.

Peaces,
H.
