Iowa and Nebraska
I'm on a road trip with my daughter to friends in Iowa, and today we went to Omaha (3hr drive each way) to see the Omaha Zoo, home of Marlin Perkins and Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. Since I didn't have to drive, it was more than worth the trip. The zoo is amazing, and Evan enjoyed it very much. Left Pella (IA) at about 8:15 a.m.; drove to the zoo in Omaha; arrived about 11:30 (pit stops along the way); walked around, saw animals, rode tram; left zoo for dinner in Omaha @ 5:15; left for IA about 6:30; arrived Pella @ 10:00 p.m.; had ice cream. A very long, full, fun, friendly day.
Tomorrow, the Iowa state fair. Temps might get into the high 80's again, so to the folks in OK, sorry about that!
