I miss Alex a lot - especially at the holidays. I still feel so lucky to be here and to be celebrating with my family and friends. There are a lot of soldiers that are serving overseas and unable to be with their families this holiday. I raise my glass to them and say thank you for all that you do, be safe, and come home to your families soon!

Over the last 2 weekends my mom has given me a crash course in sewing. The first weekend I sewed a bag for the chest protector I have to wear for karate and this weekend I made a skirt. Yesterday was fantastic! And it started at midnight with a message from Mark and a phone call from Kevin - that's the perfect way to start a birthday! People remembered all day and I even got phone calls from my co-workers after I left work early.
