Over the last 2 weekends my mom has given me a crash course in sewing. The first weekend I sewed a bag for the chest protector I have to wear for karate and this weekend I made a skirt. I had a blast learning AND I couldn't have done it in a weekend if mom hadn't done almost all of the pinning and ironing (hey, I know how to do that stuff... it was the sewing I was trying to get down!) :)
My skirt
The picture really doesn't do it justice - it's 2 skirts that are sewn together and both have peaks on the sides.
I would also like to show you how we spent the morning on Alex's year mark:
Now, mom had caught 5 fish before I caught my first one. My first one was smaller than any other fish that she had caught AND the next one was smaller than that. To add insult to injury, the 3rd fish I caught was about the size of my hook.
Luckily, mom was unable to de-hook a fish (not the lucky part) and I was able to finally catch my fourth (a.k.a. last) fish for a total of her 8, me 4!
We then went to Bordine's and bought a bird house resembling a bait shop
All-in-all, I think Alex would be very pleased ... and so am I (even if he was helping mom to cheat!)!
