It felt so nice to actually engage with reality after many weeks of...not. I mean, fantasizing about robots and dinosaurs is all fine and dandy, but it's just not reality, with all its really amazing...realness. And that's a damn tragedy.

I don't know 'bout you, kittens, but I think I moved to this city just in time for all kinds of awesomeness.

I went to the college where I'll be studying mortuary sciences today, and when I sat in the office waiting for my adviserr to show up I started reading this journal they had there for professional morticians. Had the most terrifying experience last night...

The biopsy came back as a benign granular cell tumor. So, very good news, except for the fact I needed a second surgery to take out an even bigger hunk of my tongue, just to be sure it doesn't grow back.

I've never been put under before so I was a little nervous, but on the way to OR they gave me some happy meds that left me giggling as we wheeled ( Read more... )

They scheduled me for a biopsy on January 4th, so I won't know anything until then.

I was one of two candidates left in the running for the job at Harvard, but since the other person had slightly more experience and was a little older, they offered the job to him/her. They're still negotiating with this mystery person, and if this person ends up decided not to take the job they'll give it to me. *Prays that the other person won't ( Read more... )
