Such perfect bleakness. I can almost appreciate the aesthetics presented by the near-perfect, corpse-flower bleakness of Providence in January, that lines may be drawn so very sharply, that contrast can be so stark. My last entry before Readercon 21The past two days have been hell here in Providence. The temperature hit 101F on Tuesday (a record for the date), and wasn't much better yesterday. A cold night in Providence last night, I think it was my first genuinely cold night here on the frozen and moose-haunted steppes of New England. Workwise, there's little or nothing of interest to be said for yesterday. I signed all the signature sheets for Alabaster, which took me about two hours. I tweaked the Daughter of Hounds CEM a little more, though there is still more tweaking to be done. I think it's time to accept that this book, like all books, will never be perfect.
