Our high today was 95F, with a heat index of 98F. But this afternoon clouds moved in, and an overcast 95F feels a lot cooler than a sunny, bright 95. When I dared to go outside for a pathetically short walk, it felt so much cooler than yesterday, just from the cloud cover.

In all ways, today has been a better day than the last several. However, it's getting colder, and the next two are three are going to be, by Jefferson County, Alabama standards - brutally cold. Very sunny today. A high of 89F, with fairly low humdity, 34%.

I woke at 4:30 a.m., was up at 5, and at 5:30 I began work on "The Moment Under the Moment." I did 1,023 words. Then I lay back down and slept another hour. Later, I worked on one of Winifred cervicals.

Cold. That's the most that can be said for today. It should be warm, but it's cold. Our low last night was 28F. Our high today was 42F, but at least sunny.

I was up part of the night...again...and did not get any significant writing done today. I have to sleep tonight.
