Taking a deep breath, Ron schooled his features into a sneer and rang Hermione's doorbell and waited. No answer. Strange. He rang again to no avail. There were footsteps behind him coming up the walkway. He dashed to the side of the house and watched. Snape and Hermione paused at the door, their heads close together. Ron could see Snape touching the side of her face and hot anger rose inside of him. Hands off! Can't you see that she's - she's… Happy. Ron slid down the wall, his knees to his chest. You were wrong, Weasley. She doesn't want you.
