This year we cleaned up the garden of some plants that we were not too happy with, basically drab looking evergreens and we planted some flowering ones instead. One of them which I liked a lot is the Foxglove. I like how the flowers come up in bunches and add so much of color to the garden. Not only are they beautiful, they are perennials.   After ( Read more... )

Our front yard has two Southern Magnolia trees which are in bloom now. Sometimes the front yard is very fragrant when there are a lot of flowers on the tree. Here are a couple of pictures.

As a kid, I vaguely remember a story I read, of a kid and dandelion.  Something to do with the kid blowing the dandelion and being able to tell the time of the day…. something to that effect.  Have been trying to recollect it, but am getting no where.  Does anyone remember a story like that?

Had taken Elsa to the Park where there are a couple of bare trees.  This one tree caught my attention.  It has these vibrant coloured young leaves budding out of its aged bark; otherwise it was a completely bare tree.  There were a couple of them growing at the foot of the tree too.

With me, it is a yes-no situation.  Depending on how I am feeling at that point, I believe or not believe in ghosts.  I know.  It does sound weird.  I encountered a similar situation last evening.  During winters, I had started taking Elsa out to a nearby Church ground.  They have a small play area which is fenced in and we run around there like ( Read more... )
