- I'm pretty excited about this: I may have found a suitable replacement for my dear, dear hat, which is at this point rather far into the process of giving up the ghost. I've had it for almost five years--it is the lord of all hats and has been my friend through many dangers--but by now it's too tattered to go on much longer. Thankfully, I saw this one in an email this morning, and it's almost an exact match. I hope like hell that it fits.

- I could only hope to be this cool someday.
- Last week my mom found out that one of her coworkers had a bunch of extra furniture and immediately thought of my Great Housing Project. Thanks to his generosity and astute_reason's assistance, I now have a real live couch where I used to pass off a crappy little loveseat as someplace for people to sit. It's really quite lovely.
