sevencloud posted one of those memes where he would ask every commenter a question. He asked me for something I'm really excited for that's coming in the next six months.
The first thing that comes to mind, considering the past two months, is the completion of my Great Housing Project. There's been a rather extensive lull in the whole project ever since I finished the first sweep through the ground floor; since I stopped spending a lot of time in my bedroom once I moved my desk out of there, and never spent a great deal of time in Scott's bedroom or the extra one, I haven't had any great impetus to get cracking on the upstairs. I have made the first shoveling-up-the-trash pass through Scott's bedroom, though, and I'm pretty sure there's only one more truckfull of things to go over to his apartment; meanwhile, as soon as I clean up some clutter that's gathered around the edges and get rid of my old couch, we're pretty much ready to begin work on paint and carpets for the downstairs. I expect that it'll all be pretty damned cool once it's done, probably in the next couple months...and I definitely expect my house-re-warming party to be fun.
Looking closer to the end of the six-month period, for a while before I started thinking about this last week I had completely forgotten about
the live performances of The Two Towers. I haven't even gotten my tickets yet! (Last year I got my tickets in the middle of June, just after I received my federal stimulus check, but since I don't think I'm getting one this year I might as well bite the bullet on the tickets any old time.) If it's anywhere close to last year's experience--and with Doug Adams' book supposedly still on course to be released in New York around the time of the concerts, there's that much more anticipation--it should be another incredible weekend.
