Yesterday Denise came in to work and had a meeting with the bookstore staff and Lucie and Shelby..she said she cannot keep working two jobs, she's completely exhausted and grumpy. For the past few weeks, grandma has declined rapidly..she became too weak to stand and forgetful. She's now under the care of hospice. South Pole Station by Ashley Shelby (Oct 29-Nov 4). The main character and her brother's hero was Cherry, and would quote him throughout the book. When her brother ended his own life, a copy of Worst Journey was found by his body. The book ended with a Cherry quote too..I'm glad he inspires other people too! So my parents barely get along with each other..when mom tries to talk to him, it just turns into an argument, and he storms away if he thinks he's being disagreed with, then gives everyone the silent treatment (he's also pretty hard of hearing, which doesn't help either).
