i just watched brian de palma's redacted - you know that movie that bill o'reilly doesn't want america to see, or whatever. the movie was kind of 'campy' in a way, i think because it's a faux documentary and all the fake interviews and fake news coverage is just.. too fake. i actually laughed out loud once during some of the dialogue ( Read more... )

tonight i saw a sneak preview of michael moore's sicko. it was excellent. i've seen almost all of his movies, and this one really seems to show how much he has progressed as a activist filmmaker. if anyone remembers, i wasn't crazy about farenheit 9/11 because i felt it was just so much left-wing propaganda being shoved down the audience's throat, ( Read more... )

one of my favorite documentary moments of all time is in end of the century: the story of the ramones, when the interviewer asks deedee ramone about turning tricks and the truth of 53rd and 3rd. he goes into a huge ramble, concluding with "people should take a look at themselves." and then looks away and rolls his eyes. i crack up EVERY TIME ( Read more... )
