I'm having loads of problems with the only reporter that reports to me.  She keeps submitting stories that are empty, no quotes, or no explanations for things that happen.  She puts things in her story lead that she can't explain to me when I ask her about it.  She writes economic polls that are nothing but an enumeration of numbers with no meaning ( Read more... )

Sometimes it just sucks to be an ethical journalist  working for a supposedly ethical news organization.  My boss just thumbed down the third overseas trip I was invited to.  She said, no you can't go, it's against our editorial policy.  You don't have to go to Hong Kong with that company to get that story in.  She said the same thing when I asked ( Read more... )
