The new stove arrived! The new stove arrived!

...our stove blew up tonight.

We were pausing Haunting of Hill House to make nachos and when lonelydumptruck opened the oven it gave out a huge "pop" and yellow and green flames began arcing out.

Looks like the heating element broke in 3 places.

Guess what we are doing tomorrow?

I made friends with the owners of Fuck You Rooster tonight, although Fuck  You Rooster is no more (he started attacking them when they left the house).  I was over at the fence talking to their ducks and Desiree offered me some chicken eggs.  It seems one of their hens likes to visit our yard, so Desiree and Romeny have come into our yard to fetch ( Read more... )

We have a patch of arctic roses growing as they will in our front yard.  With the recent rain, they are just starting to bloom.  Every year, we get a lot of dragonflies around the roses and it's one of my favorite things about Alaska's Summer.  Yesterday the dragonflies were so thick I was afraid I was going to step on one as I walked up and down ( Read more... )

I was sprung from work early Friday  so I got to catch up on some small things around the house before going to meet Lori-O and Lonelydumptruck at Killjoy for drinks and snacks.  They both ordered the salad ($5 for a caesar salad the size of a dinner plate!) and I got baked brie to share.

It's been an exciting Spring/Summer so far.  We've had record-highs and very little rain, which led to huge amounts of dust, record pollen counts and now three massive wildfires.  Needless to say, the air quality is for shit.  I've been having to use my inhaler regularly for the first time in almost 10 years.

Friday night we had a pretty good audience for the show and taped after, which made for a long day. I cracked up everyone and we had to stop shooting because I didn't get a chance to grab my prop book from backstage.  I'm supposed to look up from the book, terrified, and say "I don't want to do it!"  ( Read more... )

I went and scheduled myself so I had no days off this week.

Monday I finally got to be on-skates for Jr. derby practice!  Wookie messaged me to ask if I was going to Royal just as I was headed to practice, and I was able to divert her to practice, plus CranBEARy Crush came to talk about the boot camp/tournament this weekend so we had three -THREE ( Read more... )
