Question for the costumers:

Do any of you know what kind of fabric or other material is being used to make superhero costumes these days? It looks kind of like textured rubber, but seems to mold itself to the body more like spandex.

I have not yet actually started to do unspeakable things to the zoot suit, but I'm getting closer. Relatively speakable things have been done to muslin, stockings, and a corset. Hair experiments continue, have not yet yielded satisfactory results.

So very, very glad I'm taking some time off at the end of the month...

My underwear (excuse me - "ladypants") have arrived from the UK, and they are pretty much exactly what I need.

This week's mission: do unspeakable things to a zoot suit. (Yes, there will be pictures eventually, but not until after Halloween. I am documenting the process.) I'm learning quite a bit about men's suits and how they are and are not supposed to fit, as well as what to do to make them fit. Hopefully after this, tailoring won't seem quite so scary. Is this incredibly creative, or just icky? I find myself similarly dubious about this wedding gown, which has the additional disadvantage of being hideous. The pull-tab prom dress is unambiguously awesome, though.

Where the frickety-frak were THESE last winter when I was frantically trying to find big red teardrops for Sparkle!Belle? These are both better and cheaper than what I wound up getting.

I had an idea for a solo presentation. It would work better if I could do it this year, but that's unlikely so I'll have to settle for cloodging the logistics a bit. Lunacon is looking the likeliest.
