Costume Update!

This week's mission: do unspeakable things to a zoot suit. (Yes, there will be pictures eventually, but not until after Halloween. I am documenting the process.) I'm learning quite a bit about men's suits and how they are and are not supposed to fit, as well as what to do to make them fit. Hopefully after this, tailoring won't seem quite so scary. Maybe I'll even have the courage to take in and reshape some of my blazers.

The last critical bit of my costume arrived in yesterday's mail, but the wig I'd picked up is absolutely terrible and has to be replaced. I knew I should have just made a trip to Lacie's and not tried to save money... It never ceases to amaze me how even a costume that was intended to be cheap and simple winds up costing a fortune. A cheap hobby, costuming is not. :P

Luckily, the freelance work hasn't entirely dried up. The Big Secret Assignment is done, but I'm continuing to get proofing and rewriting work from Seven Seas. The latest cool project is essentially letting me get paid for reading Lewis Carrol's Alice books. Woo!
