Crafting Again

I've begun making jewelry again (racerexmachina, did you want red beads or black aurora in your choker and earrings?), and picked up some more leaf-beads and acrylic flowers to start rebuilding my hoard for the next Regina Opera sales. I can also try making stuff using the leftover memory-wire from girasole's Venetian glass necklace, and I can throw together some cheap-and-easy elastic bracelets using the black aurora beads

K. has begun talking about her massive Lunacon extravaganza, which is pretty much my fault. Luckily, she's doing the big sewing work. I only have to do jewelry and embroidery and tatted lace roses, which I can do on the train, and possibly my own dress. Which is good, because I have a wedding gown and a bridesmaid gown to make! It will be an interesting challenge to turn the Ohtori rose into a tatting pattern, but I think it can be done.

Speaking of wedding stuff, I've redesigned my gown. It no longer involves a hoopskirt. Which is good, because those are lots of work, but it kind of sucks that I'd already bought all that hooping steel. Ah well...now I have it for future use. I will still be making a corset, though, and I really need to pick up silk ribbons so I can embroider my shoes and get them finished up. My attempts at using organza ribbon didn't produce the results I'd wanted, so I'll most likely be sticking to silk. I'll be seeing my dad this weekend -- it's my grandfather's 90th birthday party -- and hopefully we can discuss wedding money then.

It's good to be making stuff again.
