holy crap I miss everyone, but I've been so busy.
I've been waiting for today for so long I can't believe it's finally here.
I have to work til 6, but tonight basically starts my Christmas celebrating :)
Having a giant party tonight at our place.
Last night I got home from work and baked a 3 layer german chocolate cake for a co-worker's birthday, a two layer fondant covered cake for the carry in at work tomorrow and 24 cupcakes for my party tonight.
I made chocolate cupcakes with a touch of mint. Then I baked peppermint patties into the middle of them! I iced them with slightly minty swirly icing. Photos later, of course.
I got up at 7am yesterday and I've been practically non-stop since.
I shopped, did laundry, steam cleaned the carpet, did dishes, baked all that stuff, cleaned the kitchen like 3 times, cleaned the laundry, set up the table with pretty things... made a wreath, (worked for 8 hours lol), and so much more. This morning I got up early and did more more more.
Oh and here's a crazy one for you! We get this notice yesterday that they're doing apartment inspections today. WTF? Who does that.
Well, Brian ran into the maintenance guy in the hall and asked what it was about...
They're remodeling our gym downstairs and evidently, they were putting up 5 flat panel tvs. When they went down there yesterday morning, 2 were missing and one was broken from where someone tried to take it. WHAT THE HELL?? Who does that??? Well, it's all kinds of crazy down there and there's tarps and plastic everywhere and the cameras I guess weren't set up yet... however, all exits from the building have cameras. They've watched every bit of footage since the theft. The tvs have not left the building. So now, 2 days before Christmas, they have to search 150 apartments to find these freaking tvs!!! How fucked is that? What kind of scumbag does that? I don't live in a skeezy place. The people who live here pay some of the highest rent in the city. I don't get it. Way to get yourself arrested 2 days before Christmas. Ass holes. I'm sure they're going to catch the person. The tvs are in the building.
Anyway, on a lighter note...
Tomorrow is the carry in at work. I'm here til 4 and then I get whisked away to Troy to have Christmas with Brian's family! I can't waaait.
Then Christmas day with Brian's grandparents and then my mom and brother are having us over for Christmas dinner.
