For unknown reasons, Sony decided to send me a copy of the Windows 7 upgrade, without a copy of my purchase receipt. So I upgraded Vista to Windows 7. And in the process, Windows 7 was smart enough to figure out I had a copy of XP on the computer, and set up dual-booting for me. Yay ( Read more... )

Apparently I managed to throw out the one receipt I needed to keep: the purchase receipt for my laptop. I can't get the Windows 7 upgrade it was supposed to come with without the receipt ( Read more... )

I did eventually manage to get XP loaded on my computer with a minimal set of drivers. The hard drive driver and the wireless driver. The graphics driver doesn't exist. So everything on my screen is smushed, since its a wide screen defaulting to 1024x780 or whatever the standard is. Neither do most of the other drivers; I guess Sony decided no ( Read more... )
