New Endings and New Beginnings - Today's Recap, 3/16/10
Okay, so...I'm just gonna say it flat out.
The boys broke up today.
I've known for a long while that it was coming. And I'd like to say, on a side note, that Van and Jake did such a good job with it, they really did. That ending part, with the hugging and the "Same here"? God. Rip my heart out.
And that kiss! Holy hell, that kiss. That came outta nowhere! Understandable, but...damn. Although I would like to point out that what Luke said today, about how Noah wanting his independence didn't make much sense if they were going to be together in the end, is exactly what I have been thinking for a good long while here. I get that Noah wants to be cautious and learn how to do things on his own just in case the surgery doesn't work. I totally undestand that. But I think - I realized this just today - that Noah needs to accept the fact that, if he stays blind, he will never be one hundred percent self-sufficient. He won't. He will have to rely on others for some things. I don't mean his whole existence has to depend on someone else, but there are things that he will never be able to do blind (like driving, for instance). He still hasn't accepted that fact. I don't blame him for not being able to accept it yet, because we all know how Noah likes to take care of himself, but it kinda makes me nuts, because things with Luke could have turned out much differently if he had taken this into account and started preparing himself to accept it.
Does that make sense?
So, I dunno...their breakup is still incredibly sad, but I'm not as upset over it as much as I thought I would be. And I think it's because I have faith that the boys are going to get back together. Now that Noah and Ali are roommates, I think it's even more probable that they'll get back together. Ali's gonna drag the whole story out of Noah, set him straight ('cause he'll probably be blaming himself for everything), and then she's gonna help him make things right.
And Luke, on the other hand...even though there's all this other crazy stuff that's going to go on with him now, I honestly do not believe that Noah will ever leave his heart. I think that if the boys don't try to work on fixing things relatively soon after Noah's surgery, then the breakup could be permanent and Luke could go his own way, but I highly doubt that. If Noah came back and apologized and said he wanted to work on making things right again, I'm positive Luke would be all for it.
And like I said yesterday, I'm really looking forward to this new storyline. It has so much potential to be good and angsty and all that stuff. Also, I really do think a break would benefit the boys. Noah's been wanting his independence for so long now, and I think the clarity of being apart will help the boys see where they each really stand.
Anyway...I feel like I've babbled a lot about this but there's still so much more to say. :-P I'm sure more will come later, as I'm prone to babbling about everything and anything in regards to the show! :-P
So, let's move on. Henry and Barbara, anyone? Yay.
So, Vienna's still smothering Henry something fierce. In fact, pretty much all the women in Henry's life right now are smothering him except Barbara. Vienna was kinda like a ventriloquist, and Henry was kinda like her doll today. Seriously, when they were taping for the WOAK special? Yeah. I mean, I'm sure there was a part of Henry that felt really good donating the money in Brad's name, since they were BFFs, but we all know that it wasn't Henry's first choice to do this. It was all Katie's decision, really. She just took that one by the horns and ran away with it, didn't she? (Ok, that's a mixed metaphor, but you get what I mean. :-P)
But Henry and Barbara today! YAY! Good boy, Henry, I'm so proud of you!! I'm so glad he jumped into the elevator with her and they FINALLY got some of their feelings out in the open. I think they were still holding back a little, but Barbara did tell him that she cares about him more than she thought she should. And Henry recognized the fact that Vienna was in love with who she thought Henry was, and not who he really is. And Henry said he liked being himself with Barbara, and he liked the fact that she knew everything about him - good and bad - and still accepted him. ♥
Now Henry just has to grow some cajones and tell Vienna that he wants to be with Barbara. Sounds like another Coleman Adventure to me! :-P
So, Chris and Alison...awkward reunion is awkward, eh? LOL. I get why Ali's doing what she's doing, considering the whole thing with Casey, but I have a feeling that she and Chris aren't going to keep their distance. They're at least going to be friends, if nothing else. Especially considering that they work at the same hospital now. Kinda hard to avoid each other, I'd say!
But then there might also be something going on with Chris and Katie. I like the two of them together - they work well. :-) So we'll have to wait and see on that one.
And Bob and Kim - adorable as always! Gotta love 'em. And once again, Bob puts Reid in his place. LOL! Reid makes all these demands and requests for the new hospital wing, and Bob was all, "Oh, sure...we could do that. Or I could get somebody else to replace you, mwahahahaha!" and Reid was all, "I'm sorry sir...please don't do that," with his tail between his legs. LMAO!!!
And then, Luke and Reid inevitably bump into each other at the Lakeview and insults and nastiness are shared, as per usual. :-P But now Reid is being confronted by a REALLY tall dude who presumably wants to pound his pretty little face in. More on that situation tomorrow!
Also, I'd like to apologize in advance if I let some spoilers slip in my recaps. I'm a spoiler junkie - just can't seem to lay off them - so I have all the spoiler info swimming around with what's actually happening on the show. I try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible, but sometimes it's really hard. LOL. So I'm very sorry if I let something slide in before it's actually happened. :-) You guys will forgive me, right? :-D
